It's called a Super Tuscan blend because any grapes that are traditionally grown outside of Tuscany, Italy, they are known as Super Tuscan grapes. With an even blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, we experience the best of both worlds together. The Sangiovese grapes are grown in the Sierra Foothills region, which can get pretty warm in the summertime. The good news is, that lends to a full-bodied wine that is rich with darker colors and more body than a typical Sangiovese Now add the dryness and solid tannins of the Cabernet Sauvignon, and the two worlds beautifully collide.

The… more+ Tasting notes - we sourced these grapes from the famous Beckstoffer vineyards in Lake County/Red Hills region, which borders Napa County. The grapes were picked at 2:00 am and owner J.J. Huber personally picked up the grapes in a truck at 6:00 am. He began the long 9-hour journey back to Laguna Beach to crush on site. The soil composition lends itself to a complex earthy bouquet which leads to ripe cherry and dark berry notes. A firm backbone of tannins rounds out the finish for a full-bodied mouthfeel.
